  • Salvation Testimony

I was born and raised in the Philippines in a Christian home. Even before I was born, my dad was already a pastor and my mom was a Christian teacher. Like other preacher’s kid, my life revolved around the ministry. I grew up attending Sunday schools, memorizing verses from the Bible, and most of all, hearing the Gospel lot of times. Even though I’ve known how to be saved, sad to say, I was not. I did not realize that I needed to be saved.

But one day when I was only 11 years old, I had a dream that terrified me. I dreamed that my parents died. Never in my life had I felt more scared. I was afraid losing my parents, especially at that time as I was very young. As soon as I woke up, I ran to my mom and cried. I told her the reason why I was crying and that very moment she shared Jesus to me. I saw in her eyes that she was not afraid of death. I knew there was something missing in my life. She told me that she was not afraid of death because she has Jesus in her heart. That something missing in me was actually a Someone and that is Jesus. That day, February 22, 2002, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior.

I may be a preacher’s kid, I may have heard every Sunday school lesson and I may know the Bible but there was still Someone I needed in my life. I thank God for my mom for sharing Jesus in my life. It has been 15 years since I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I can say that I am not afraid of death anymore.

  • Calling & Training

Since I was a child, my only desire was that someday I would be a preacher like my dad. Although my parents are in full time ministry, they did not push me to follow the same path. But it was a desire in my heart. I was in my junior year in high school when at a youth camp that I heard a message about surrendering your life in full time ministry. Upon hearing the message, I was convicted, and that long time desire burned again in my heart. I stepped forward and surrendered my life into full time ministry.

Being a preacher’s kid, I’ve been involved in the ministry with my family. I’ve been involved in Bible studies, soul winning, knocking on doors because my parents brought me with them. I thank God for my parents who prayed for me and taught me in my early age to love and to be involved in the ministry. In 2007, I enrolled in Berean Baptist Theological College under the leadership of Dr. Richard Bitun. I was blessed to be trained and taught by men of God and preachers of the Word. All the while, I was actively involved in the ministry. After 4 years, I was able to finish my studies.

In 2014, God gave me the opportunity to further my knowledge and training at Marietta Bible College in Marietta Ohio, under the leadership of Dr. Myron Guiler.

  • Ministry Experience

I thank the Lord for calling me in the ministry. In 2011, after I graduated from Bible college, the Lord led me to a new mission field and to help a ministry in Grace Baptist Church Bliss Compound Quezon City, under the leadership of Pastor Marck Bitun. There, I learned more about the ministry. I had the privilege to hold Bible studies, to teach children, and to disciple young people. By the grace of God, I saw fruits. I was able to baptize two Christians.

In 2012, I went back to my home church at Christian Baptist Church in Peñablanca, Cagayan and served as the assistant pastor. In August 2013, I took over the pastorate of my home church. Taking over the leadership of a church is hard. There are expectations and comparisons of the people that cannot be helped, but I thank God for His faithfulness. It is written in Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” God used this verse to encourage me to press forward.

I thank God because He proved that it is His work and not man’s. The ministry grew as the Lord continued to bless His work. We were able to knock on doors and share the Word of God, teach children about the Bible, and disciple Christians as they grow in faith.
