  • Salvation Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents are missionaries from the Philippines. I am blessed to be raised in a Christian home. Yes, there are a lot of hardships and persecutions but I can still see God’s unending grace and provision upon us.

When I was a child, I was homeschooled. All I saw and learned was what my parents taught. Outside our home was a world I didn’t know. During that time, I claimed to myself that I was saved and was going to heaven because of my family. I thought following the prayer of acceptance every Sunday school is enough. But then I stopped homeschooling and started attending my town’s school. There, I was introduced to different kinds of people and religions. Not knowing the difference, I did what the other kids were doing. I followed and copied them whenever they were doing religious practices. My sisters saw me during school activities that I was involved in a Catholic practice and told me that I wasn’t suppose to do those things; it was then that I realized what I have been doing.

I was scared to tell my parents what I was doing. I did not know what to do. I had a lot of questions in my mind. They eventually found out about it when my sisters told them. They talked to me about it and tried to explain to me what was happening. But, I didn’t understand, instead I asked them many questions. They tried to answer my questions but I remember my parents telling me I wouldn’t understand everything at that time because I was still very young.

One afternoon after that, my mom called me to their room. I saw her sitting on the bed and holding her Bible. She read to me the passage John 3:16. I already memorized that verse but I didn’t understand what it truly meant. She told me because of God’s love, He gave His Son Jesus to save us from all our sins and from hell. He was nailed on the cross and died for us to cleanse us from all our sins. Jesus came down to earth and gave His life for us even though we are all sinners. She also read the passage of Romans 6:23 and said that all of us will die. Just like those who are in the cemetery we can see people die young and old; we don’t know when we will die. But thanks to be unto God for giving us the free gift of eternal life though Jesus Christ. We just have to believe in Him and confess our sins and once we are saved, we are forever saved.

After our conversation, I was so glad that I found the truth and that the Bible, the Word of God tells us the truth. That day, January 3, 2003, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and know that I am truly saved. Jesus is the only way, truth, and life. Thank God for salvation.

  • Calling & Training

After I got saved, I started to be involved in our ministries like teaching kids and distributing Gospel tracts. During those days, I really looked up to my mother and I want to become like her someday. As I grew up, I felt the joy in serving the Lord and I knew that He has a calling for me but I kept on running away from it. Until the day came, it was summer camp meeting in 2012 when I decided to respond to God’s call and let Him do in my life what He wants me to do.

In the year 2012, I enrolled at the Fundamental Baptist College for Asians in Tarlac City, Philippines. There, I experienced more things in the mission field and learned many things in the ministry. I was able to help another local church and work as their church worker. In 2013, God extended His blessing and gave me an opportunity to continue my studies and training in Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio to further my training and be equipped under the leadership of Dr. Myron Guiler.

  • Ministry Experience

I thank God for sending His Son, Jesus so we can be saved and for us to have everlasting life with Him. I thank Him for giving me the opportunity to share the Word of God to those who don’t know about Him and His mercy and grace. I thank God for the opportunity to be able to teach kids in different areas and villages. I was also able to distribute Gospel tracts, knocking doors and winning souls with members and Christian workers of our church.

In my home church, once or twice a month, we travel almost an hour to go up in the mountains where there are indigenous Filipinos called Aetas. I was able to gather the kids there and teach them Christian songs and Bible stories while my parents and other members hold Bible studies to the parents of the kids and other adults of the place. As we go up to the mountains and try to reach the Aetas, we are able to see fruits and now disciple some of the families are being discipled. I thank God for continually saving souls.

One of the ministries of our church is the Deaf & Mute Ministry. My mother is the interpreter of our church and I’m thankful that I was able to learn sign language too. We were able to reach the deaf people in our community and I’m so glad seeing more and more deaf people come to our church, growing in number and in faith. I can see how hungry they are for the Word of God and for the love and acceptance of other people. Seeing them in church and faithfully serving the Lord gives my heart a burden to reach them and the others that needs to know the Gospel.
