  • Salvation Testimony

I grew up in a Christian family, my dad is a preacher and a missionary and my mom is dedicated in helping my dad in the ministry. I live in Santiago City, Philippines located at the northern part of Luzon Island. I have five siblings, three are girls and two are boys and I’m at the middle. I praise God because all of us are in the ministry.

Early on in my life, my siblings and I were exposed in the ministry. As a kid, together with my brother, the church property became our playground. Even though I never fully understood the ministries and activities of the church, I was still very involved and was active in church. I really enjoyed attending Sunday school with other kids. We learned songs, memory verses, played games; the teachers told us Bible stories and they gave us snacks. My parents were very serious in taking care of us especially in our spiritual growth and I always heard the Gospel being taught by my parents. I always heard it preached at church, but I never fully understood it– that’s why I ignored it. Surrounded with a Christian family and friends, all I thought was that the direction of my life was in good shape and I thought that I was saved and that I was going to Heaven.

Until one day, when I was a 10 year old boy, our Sunday school teacher was teaching us a Bible lesson about the Rich man and Lazarus. It caught my attention when I heard the words “Hell” and “Death”. The Lord spoke to my heart. I realized that life is short, death is sudden, and judgment is sure. The teacher taught us and I realized that I am miserable, lost and was a sinner. At the end of her lesson, the teacher explained clearly the plan of salvation to us and she asked anyone in the class who wanted to be saved and immediately, without any hesitation, I raised my hand. That day I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior. I was so happy. A boy with a wrong direction, became a boy with a dedicated heart for the Lord. I am only but a sinner saved by grace.

  • Calling & Training

After I got saved, I wanted my life to be used by the Lord. After I graduated in high school, I attended a youth camp. At the 4th day, a preacher spoke about “Calling” and the Holy Spirit convicted my heart, and at that moment, I prayed and surrendered my life to the Lord. It was April 2004; I was 18 years old that time. But instead of following God’s will, I ran away from His call, and chose to follow what I thought was best for me. I thought I made a right decision and it will be beneficial for me to become a nurse instead. But I made a big mistake in my life. On my second year in the nursing school, I did not find joy and I was miserable. Until I remembered my commitment to God to serve Him in full time ministry. I went home and told my parents about my decision to forsake my ambition to be a nurse and enroll to the Bible Seminary. We cried together and prayed before the Lord.

As a young Christian, my father, who is also my pastor, taught me how to read the Bible, pray, and share the Gospel to others. As I grew in faith, I was trained by our youth pastor on how to conduct song leading and presiding in the church and even teaching Bible stories to kids in villages. After much involvement in the church ministry and being active in our youth program, I was given an opportunity to lead the young people for almost two years.

In 2005, I enrolled at the Berean Baptist Theological College in Tuguegarao City, Philippines under the leadership of Pastor Richard Bitun. I was trained under and learned from many volunteer pastors from nearby areas. I am blessed to have learned from men of God the fundamentals of faith and showed me how to be courageous in the ministry. I graduated after 3 years. In 2016, God gave me the opportunity to further my training at Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio under the leadership of Dr. Myron Guiler.

  • Ministry Experience

After I graduated from the Bible college in 2007, I served in my home church in Santiago City, Isabela. I became the youth pastor and led the young people in different ministries. I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to serve alongside my dad. The Lord gave our church loving and very supportive members. Many souls got saved and were baptized and young people surrendered their lives to the Lord.

As missionaries, my parents have the desire to plant more churches in places where the Gospel is needed. I thank the Lord for putting that desire in my heart as well. In 2010, they started a new mission work in another town called Cabatuan, Isabela. I was called to take over the pastorate of our home church in Santiago City. By God’s grace, for the last 7 years of being the pastor of the church, the Lord blessed the ministry and it continues to grow today.

Even though there were many ups and downs in the ministry, without fail, the Lord sustained us. I thank God for our people who are faithful in soul winning, doing Bible studies, discipling Christians, teaching children about the Bible, and singing for the Lord. Currently, we have two daughter churches in two different villages, and Lord willing we will start another one.
