  • Salvation Testimony

I am blessed to have a wonderful family. I thank God for saving my family and that they are very supportive of the ministry. The first member of my family who got saved was my mother. With just a simple verse on a blind man’s shirt, the Holy Spirit opened her heart and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She became a mother at a young age. Even though she didn’t finish her studies, she became our first teacher. She taught us Bible stories and led us to prayer. My mother used Bible story books with pictures for my siblings and I to understand the stories and from there we learned many things. She also brought us to church and in church we learned more things about God.

But then, as we went to Sunday school, I noticed that what my mother taught us was different from what our Sunday school teacher was teaching. Later on, I realized that our mother really didn’t know the details but she just tried her best to teach us godly lessons.

Our mother also led us in our family devotion. One night, she asked my siblings and I a question I’ve never heard before. She asked, “If you die tonight, do you know where you will go?” I didn’t know what to answer. At first, I thought that I was going to Heaven because I was good. I memorized many Bible verses and I knew a lot of Bible stories. But she explained that when we die, either our soul will go to Heaven or Hell. I heard a lot about Heaven but I was not sure what Hell was. She explained that Hell is a dark place with fire that no one can put out, where worms that never die. I became afraid that night picturing myself in Hell. My mother opened the Bible and showed us verse and explained that we are all sinners and because of our sins, we are going to Hell.

I didn’t want to go to Hell. I asked her how can I go to Heaven when I die? She then quoted John 14:6, that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. She asked me to recite John 3:16 which I memorized before, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” She explained that God loved us so much, Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and that if we accept Him as our Savior, we have salvation and that we will be with Him in Heaven when we die. That verse became more meaningful to me when she explained it. That night, I admitted to God that I am a sinner and deserved to go to Hell, and I was lost without Jesus. It was August 21, 2001, that night, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord.

I thank God for using my mother to share to me the plan of Salvation. Even though she was lacking in many things, God used her for me to hear the Gospel. She made me feel God’s love and I wouldn’t be serving the Lord today if it were not for her faithfulness. To God be the glory!

  • Calling & Training

When I was on my third year of high school, I attended a summer youth camp with other young people of our church. It was there that I felt God calling me to the full time ministry. I was not able to enter Bible College right away after that because I was still in high school. But for me, that was still a blessing because as I waited for a year, I got the opportunity to work as a church worker in our church. A month after my graduation, I enrolled at the Fundamental Baptist College for Asians, a Bible college in Tarlac City, Philippines.

After two years in Bible college, in 2013, God gave me the privilege to study at Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio under the leadership of Dr. Myron Guiler as a scholar. I thank the Lord for all His blessings. In May 2018, I will receive my master’s degree in Advanced Biblical Studies. All to the glory of God!

  • Ministry Experience

As I grew spiritually, the Lord allowed me to be involved in the ministries of my church. I went with members and church workers in going out to distribute Gospel tracts, go soul winning, and teach children.

While studying in Bible College, the Lord gave me the opportunity to serve in a local church in Tarlac City. There I was able to teach children in the villages Bible stories and the Bible. We also regularly lead members of the church to go out and knock on doors and share the Gospel to people in the community. I count it a great privilege to see souls saved and be added into the church. I was also able to disciple and encourage the young people in the ministry.
