"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:14
Salvation Testimony
I am the youngest in my family who were all Catholics. When I was 10 years old, my oldest brother encouraged me to read the New Testament of the Bible. It was given to him at his school. I was curious. I really didn’t know what the Bible was. I started to read it from Matthew to Revelations. But I did not understand anything from the Bible. Everyday I read it, until I read Matthew 24:44 that said, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” At exactly 8 pm, I walked outside of our house and I looked up in the sky. I said in my heart, if the Lord will come now, I will not go to Heaven because I am a sinner. Another verse I also read in the Bible is in Hebrews 13:5 which says in the latter part, “... I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
A few years went by, when I was 17 years old, a Baptist group came to our place in Bulacan. They shared with me the Gospel of Jesus. That was in May 1984. I remembered the Word of God that I read when I was 10 years old that I need Jesus in my heart as my Lord and Savior. I accepted Him in my heart to save me. Now I am serving God faithfully in God’s vineyard as His servant with my whole family.
